.B3.LM0
1.0##<SUMMARY
.B1.LM9.I-4
1.##^MICROCODE VERSION 131 IS THE FOURTH RELEASE OF THE <KL10 MICROCODE. ^THE <KL10
MICROCODE IS DIFFERENT FOR <TOPS-10 AND <TOPS-20 SYSTEMS. ^THE <TOPS-10
MICROCODE IS CALLED <U.RAM.
.B1.I-4
2.##^THE <KL10 MICROCODE IS NOT DEPENDENT ON ANY MONITOR, BUT BECAUSE OF
HARDWARE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE VARIOUS -10 PROCESSORS, A MONITOR MUST BE
BUILT SPECIFICALLY FOR THE <KL10. <KL10 MICROCODE VERSION 131 HAS BEEN
TESTED WITH THE 6.02^A AND 6.03 MONITORS. ^THE <KL10 MICROCODE HAS NO <DATE75 DEPENDENCIES.
.B1.LM0
^SEE <LCREV FOR INFORMATION REGARDING MICROCODE REQUIREMENTS FOR VARIOUS HARDWARE REVISIONS LEVELS.
.B3.LM0
2.0##<KNOWN <DEFICIENCIES
.B1
^THE FOLLOWING ARE KNOWN DEFICIENCIES IN MICROCODE 131:
.B1.LM9.I-4
1.##^MICROCODE VERSION 131 HAS NOT BEEN TESTED ON PROCESSOR REVISION LEVELS LESS THAN 8.
.B1.I-4
2.##^MICROCODE VERSION 131 WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY ON PROCESSOR REVISION LEVELS LESS THAN 6.
.B1.I-4
3.##^SOME <JRST<'S THAT SHOULD TRAP IN USER MODE DO NOT. (<JRST 10, AND <JRST 12.)
.B1.I-4
4.##<MAP SHOULD NOT BE LEGAL IN USER MODE.
.B1.I-4
5.##<EDIT CAN NOT BE INTERRUPTED WHEN IT IS LOOPING.
.B1.I-4
6.##^STARTING THE MICROCODE AT LOCATION 0 DOES NOT CLEAR <PC BITS 13-17. ^THEREFORE,
WHEN A MACHINE IS POWERED DOWN AND UP AGAIN THE MICROCODE MUST BE VERIFIED
AFTER LOADING. ^VERIFYING THE MICROCODE CLEARS THOSE <PC BITS.
.B1.I-4
7.##<BLKO AND <BLKI DO NOT WORK IN AN INTERRUPT LOCATION.
.PG.B3.LM0
3.0##<FIXED <PROBLEMS
.B1
^THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN FIXED:
.B1.LM9.I-4
1.##^PAGE RESTORING IS NOW HANDLED PROPERLY.
.B1.I-4
2.##^ILLEGAL FLAGS IN COMPARE STRING INSTRUCTIONS NO LONGER CAUSE A SYSTEM
CRASH WITH A PARITY ERROR.
.B1.I-4
3.##^THE <DTE NUMBER IS COMPUTED CORRECTLY NOW FOR MORE THAN ONE <DTE.
^MULTIPLE <DTE<'S ARE THEREFORE SUPPORTED FOR 1090 SYSTEMS.
.B1.I-4
4.##^START AND CONTINUE FUNCTIONS CAN NO LONGER HANG THE PROCESSOR IF AN INTERRUPT REQUEST IS PENDING.
.B3.LM0
4.0##<RELATED <DOCUMENTATION
.B1
^THE MICROCODE IS IMPLICITLY DOCUMENTED IN THE ^SYSTEM ^REFERENCE ^MANUAL, IN THAT
IT IS AN IMPLIMENTATION OF A <PDP10. ^THE ONLY OTHER DOCUMENTATION IS IN THE LISTING
AND PRINTS OF THE <KL10 PROCESSOR.
.B3
5.0##<FUNCTION <OF <U.RAM
.B1
<U.RAM IS THE MICROPROGRAM WHICH DIRECTS THE OPERATION OF THE <KL10
HARDWARE TO EMULATE THE BEHAVIOR OF A <PDP10 FOR A <TOPS-10 SYSTEM.
