1.0 SUMMARY
MAKVFU is a utility program to generate LP05/LP07/LP14 Direct Access
Vertical Format files. MAKVFU commands are described in MAKVFU.HLP.
MAKVFU runs on all releases of TOPS-20.
2.0 EXTERNAL CHANGES
The LINES-PER-INCH command was added for LP07 printers, and the
INFORMATION command will report the setting.

4.0 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
4.1 Files Needed to Run MAKVFU
MAKVFU consists of two files, MAKVFU.EXE and MAKVFU.HLP.
4.2 Instructions for Installing MAKVFU
Mount the tape labeled Installation Tape on MTA0: and type the
following commands:
SKIP MTA0:5 FILES
R DUMPER
TAPE MTA0:
REWIND
DENSITY 1600-BPI
SKIP 1
RESTORE <*>MAKVFU.EXE,<*>MAKVFU.HLP (TO) SYS:*.*.-1

4.3 Files Needed to Build MAKVFU
MAKVFU is built from the following files:
MAKVFU.MAC
In addition the following files must be on SYS:
MONSYM.UNV
MACSYM.UNV
MACREL.REL
4.4 Instructions for Building MAKVFU
Mount the tape labeled Distribution Tape on MTA0: and type the
following commands:
R DUMPER
TAPE MTA0:
REWIND
DENSITY 1600-BPI
SKIP 1
RESTORE <*>*.*.* (TO) <self>*.*.*
REWIND
^C
SUBMIT MAKVFU.CTL/TIME/UNIQ:0/REST

7.0 EXAMPLES
The following sequence of commands to MAKVFU will produce a file
equivalent to the standard VFU file NORMAL.VFU which is distributed by
DEC. It is possible that other sequences of input will produce the
same VFU file.
