1.0  SUMMARY

PA1050 version 5(350) is the TOPS-10 UUO simulator produced  from  the
file  PAT.MAC.   It  gets mapped into the address space of any program
that executes a TOPS-10 UUO.  Its function is to intercept all TOPS-10
UUO's and simulate them with the appropriate TOPS-20 JSYS's.

PA1050 version 5(350) runs under the TOPS-20 Release 5 monitor.



2.0  EXTERNAL CHANGES

Magtape OPEN byte size  adjusted  to  correspond  to  OPEN  conditions
(Labeled/Unlabeled,Format,Hardware data mode).  See code for details.

FILOPS implemented (0 -> 15).



3.0  KNOWN BUGS AND DEFICIENCIES

PA1050 is intended to be used to support  only  the  standard  TOPS-20
software  (FORTRAN,  COBOL,  etc.).   PA1050  reflects TOPS-10 version
5.06.



4.0  INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS


4.1  Files Needed to Run PA1050

PA1050 consists of one file, PA1050.EXE.


4.2  Instructions for Loading and Installing

Mount the tape labeled  Installation  Tape  on  MTA0:   and  type  the
following commands:

     SKIP MTA0:5 FILES
     R DUMPER
     TAPE MTA0:
     REWIND
     DENSITY 1600-BPI
     SKIP 1
     RESTORE <*>PA1050.EXE (TO) SYS:*.*.-1
     REWIND

4.3  Files Needed to Build PA1050

PA1050 is built from the following file:

     PAT.MAC

In addition, the following files must be on SYS:

     MACREL.REL
     MACSYM.UNV
     MONSYM.UNV


4.4  Instructions for Building PA1050

Mount the tape labeled  Distribution  Tape  on  MTA0:   and  type  the
following commands:

     R DUMPER
     TAPE MTA0:
     REWIND
     DENSITY 1600-BPI
     SKIP 1
     RESTORE <*>*.* (TO) <self>*.*
     REWIND
     ^C
     SUBMIT PAT/TIME:1:0:0
