/ERROR and-or /FATAL causes an illegal memory reference.
[DIAGNOSIS]
The illegal memory reference was caused by the pointer to
the argument list getting erroneously stepped on.
[CURE]
Don't step on the pointer to the argument list.

print out the error code correctly.
[DIAGNOSIS]
SORT incorrectly converted the error code from SIXBIT to
ASCII.
